How Sure Are You That Hell Doesn’t Exist?
This is something to think about. No literal hell!?
Well, according to many non-believers and atheists hell does not exist and you can find those kind of comments on social media atheist sites, of course; plus they also don’t believe God exists anyway. Surprisingly, some Christians also do not believe in hell, and you might find that surprising, but keep in mind the kind of thinking that is prevalent in the world today – which is misunderstanding the scripture on a grand scale. Changing the words to meet the agenda of unsteady Christian groups or non-Christians that use it to try to sway true Christians.
How much better can it get for sinners if there is no literal hell? Just do whatever you want and not worry about your future. I guess many already do that judging by the criminal statistics. But consider a real hell, and you had to do your best to stop sinning. Could you do it as a Christian? Could you do it as an atheist or non-believer?
Do you know what sin is in the Holy Bible? Let’s first start with, have you ever broken any of the 10 Commandments? Exodus 20 gives you the list if you forgot them or don’t know them.

To make it much easier, let’s try this. Have you ever lied, stolen, cheated, fought, cursed, or bullied and that is just a simple few. I imagine that would be very hard or at least difficult, even as a Christian to stop sinning, because no matter who we are we are sinners from birth and are exposed to things that the Bible considers sin everyday. Getting out of sin is difficult, but not impossible.
OK. So it is established that we are all sinners, but the issue is whether we believe in hell or not, and that goes back to what you believe about sin. If you don’t believe, have you ever read or been exposed to the Holy Bible? If not, then you have no knowledge of hell and for non-Christians it doesn’t exist at all.
If you are an atheist who has read the Holy Bible as a Christian in the past, then you have to wonder if hell is real or not. If you are a true Christian that reads the Holy Bible, then you know hell is real. Why? Because it is written in the scripture and the words of what you read are in your belief and faith in the word of God.
The Holy Bible contains several verses that reference Hell, and here’s a summary of some key verses for you to read:
Matthew 10:28
“And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Mark 9:43-48
“And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire.”
Revelation 21:8
“But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
Matthew 25:41
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.'”
1 Corinthians 3:15
“If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.”
Matthew 12:32
“And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.”
Revelation 20:13-14
“And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done.”
Mark 9:44
“Where the worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.”
Matthew 15:30
“and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. “
Matthew 25:41
“Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”
Job 10: 21-22
“Before I go to the place from which I shall not return, to the land of darkness and the shadow of death, a land as dark as darkness itself, as the shadow of death, without any order, where even light is like darkness.”

This all sounds really bad, and it can be for non-believers, but not for those who have faith, and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. However, it is possible for any non-believer to repent their sins and accept Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior if they desire. This is not a forced decision and one that most don’t take lightly in making. Your free-will gives you the choice.
Why do some people believe that hell is a fun place or one where you can hang out with friends? It is because some movies in the past, and the present use dialog as, “I’ll see you in hell!” or “Save me a place in hell” and other similar statements you have probably heard. Lets get something straight right now.
Movies have scripts that are written by writers who either believe or don’t believe in God and the Holy Bible but need to attract people to watch them. They know that in advertising and marketing sex and violence pay in terms of an audience. Not sure if that’s true? Look at the movies, ads and TV shows, movies and commercials. Now, imagine how it would be if every true Christian stopped watching violent or hateful movies, shows or commercials.
Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in their guilt. Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.
Leviticus 19:17-18
These hell referencing dialog statements are made for dramatic effect, but unfortunately many viewers re-use these statements foolishly when speaking to others and often start to believe them.
Movies have a real tenancy of making you believe what you see. My case in point: A detective friend of mine told me he was investigating a murder, and asked the person why he killed the other person. He was told “I hit him with the baseball bat thinking he would get back up because I saw it in the movies where someone hit a person with a bat several times, and they got back up.” Unfortunately it only took one hit in real life. Don’t think you are not influenced by movies and TV, try listening to the words you use and how you act, you may be surprised.
Anyway back to the reality of hell. As the scriptures tell us, hell is a place of complete darkness. So, how can you really expect to see your friends? Are you carrying a candle, flashlight or matches?

Hell according to the Holy Bible in Matthew 15:30, is a place of extreme pain, so do you really think you will be looking to hang out with friends when you are in complete agony? Of course, there are no pain meds or anyone to help you, because they are also suffering.
As bad as hell sounds, is there a way out?
Yes! The first thing to do is to acknowledge your sinful life, and we are all sinners, including me. Then want to change it for the better, and for your eventual salvation. If you are looking for salvation, the going to heaven type, you need to have faith, believe, accept, repent of your sins to Jesus, and eventually help others do the same.
For any atheists that might be reading this, it is not a forced decision to be a Christian. Personally, it was a long time coming decision for me and now I am assured that hell will have no grasp on me. I have faith and hope in my savior Christ Jesus with the knowledge that He will be with me always.
Coming to the Lord is not difficult, and it may take a little time to grow your faith and belief but it will happen when you accept Him in your life.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
We all only get one chance to find salvation. The Bible doesn’t explain what happens if you die before redemption, so I would try to figure it out ahead of time. Hell does sound bad, but as true Christians we have hope in our Blessed Savior and Lord Christ Jesus. Start putting your faith and trust in Him to escape the terrible fate many non-believers will be facing.
If you are interested in the truth about sin and hell, you should read the Holy Bible, and learn more to strengthen your faith and belief. Try reading the Book of James and then Proverbs and Psalms. I found these chapters to be the best way to start a new direction in your life towards Christ Jesus, and consider those chapters a life and self-help manual.
