10 Bible Questions Answered – Part 5 of 7

We at Our Divided World Ministry have also been answering your Holy Bible questions in posts and in our Sermonettes series in case you want to listen instead of reading.

You can find them on our Sermon/Sermonettes page. Click Here

There are 70 questions so far, and we are posting them in groups as we answer them in the Sermonette podcasts.

Some of the following are not very surprising due to the dilution of the Holy Bible by those individuals and groups that oppose the meaning of its Holy word.

Here is the continuing group of questions and answers:

26. I Heard Christianity Is A Cult.

Christianity is NOT a cult, but can seem like it sometimes when Christian believers try to force their opinions on other non-believers.

First of all, what is the dictionary definition of a cult? “A relatively small group of people having beliefs or practices, especially relating to religion, that are regarded by others as strange or sinister or as imposing excessive control over members”

In the Christian life you don’t need to do lots of things to gain entry into heaven as you do in most cults if they even have a heaven or so-called heaven.

You need to repent of your sins, and not continue sinning, believe and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and be a more righteous, and good person.

That’s the basic stuff. Being a Christian also means helping those with less, the elderly, widows and being neighborly.

This is the basic information but there is a lot more about cults. If you have any questions about any groups or cults you may be involved in or may get involved in email us at: john@ourdividedworld.com or jean@ourdividedworld.com.

27. Is The Bible Relevant For Today?

The simple answer… YES!

Just listen to the news. The world is getting dark quicker with hate, anger, fighting, lying, stealing, killing, wars, sexual dysphoria, and gender confusion that is only part of the sin darkening the world today.

Sure many of those things happened in the past, but more get added to the list, especially when many are not sure what a man and woman are, and that actually blows my mind!!

Genesis tells us what they are, but I understand that many of those thinkers are not believers in the Bible. But, come on now, we all know the body parts. “Men have a penis and girls have a vagina.” A classic Kindergarten Cop line.

I hope no one was just offended by my comparison to the movie, but you’ll get over it.

The Bible is a complex and fascinating text. It is a collection of stories, poems, songs, and prophecies that have inspired and challenged people for centuries. It is a book that is full of wisdom and insight, and it is a book that is still relevant today.

The Bible is also our hope for the future, and a way to make our lives better and free of the craziness all around us. Being relevant also means you can read Proverbs, and find just about anything you need help with to find your way out of sin.

As I have said before, and always will, we are all sinful, including me.

If you need help finding a verse, just send me an email at: john@ourdividedworld.com.

28. Why Is There So Much Violence In The Name Of Jesus Christ?

The best way to answer this is to ask, “Why is there so much violence in the name of any religious leader or groups?”

My response is because Satan has gotten hold of those doing the violence and tack Christianity or Jesus’s name to the event.

The Catholic church started it in the very early years with the Knights Templar to gain money through the guise of taxes from the rich and poor and started wars to get even more. Yes, greed, even from the church!

Religious history is full of these types of stories all in the name of Christianity or Jesus Christ, and it continues even in our present times.

Those who use His name are being guided by Satan for greed and power, and to take away the glory of God’s true meanings.

Think about it this way. Attached a name or popular reason, and you know have a great reason to do battle. The reason for using Jesus or Christianity is so you can say “God is protecting us.” Pretty clever right?

Also if God is going to do war He won’t attach any name or title to it.

29. Why Should I Care About Reading The Bible?

Reading the Bible is a total free choice. So, why should you read the Bible? I can give you a few simple reasons:

1. You want to learn how to live a more sin-free and righteous life as a true Christian.

2. What most preachers leave out is salvation and how to achieve it, so you actually need to read it if you want salvation in your future.

3. It can help you get through many of life’s problems if you read Proverbs.

But the most importation reason as a Christian is to be able to tell others about the hope in Jesus Christ for the future that will be bad for those still left on earth after the rapture.

30. Are Christians Reincarnated Like Other Religious Groups Believe?

Simple answer?

Not really. In a way we are since we receive new bodies, but reincarnated means you come back as someone else after you die.

I’ll explain it this way. When the Rapture starts the true Christians that are dead rise first, and then the living and ascend into heaven with new free-of-pain and sin bodies. We stay in heaven until the earth is purified of all evil things and people (those who don’t want to accept Jesus Christ) and is completely changed back into the Garden of Eden.

The Bible tells us that our new bodies are similar to Jesus Christ, and that they are free of pain and sinful emotions and thoughts. Plus went the Rapture happens all the true Christians are sent up to heaven and only return to earth once if has been cleansed of all sinful people.

So… once again, no… we are not reincarnated… but reborn in Christ.

31. I Am Skeptical About The Bible.

Being skeptical is a good thing. It shows that you just don’t jump into something without knowing more about it, and that is a very good way to learn.

Asking questions, as you hear many questions in this podcast series are a way to learn and understand what the Bible is about and how it can help you in your daily life and the future.

Plus, you hear many things negative, and bad about the Bible, and how it can change you in a bad way or con you like hypnosis. Well, I’m hear to say I am not hypnotized, and neither is my Wife or friends.

Listening to gossip can make you conform to someone else thinking, and not your own. Don’t be influenced by others. Take the time to find out for yourself whatever you need to know. The Holy Bible is no different. The bible is a plain sense book on how to live your life without sin, plain and simple.

Skeptical? I thought you would be. So, read Proverbs and see if what I am telling you is true. Plain sense knowledge.

For whatever reason you are skeptical, you should listen to or read all the questions that have been asked, and see if it helps you make your own decision.

The one thing to remember is that we all have free-will, and should not use other’s-will to help us make decisions. Any questions you have that are not recorded or in our PDF, just email me at: john@ourdividedworld.com.

32. Is There Any Scientific Proof Of The Bible?

In the past people did not know much about science because it was limited, but today we know all kinds of things.

And, the Bible is full of scientific facts, and many scientists believe in God and scripture. Some famous names such as Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, Francis Bacon, Issac Newton, Rene Descartes, Joseph Lister, Michael Faraday, Blaise Pascal and others.

Sit down and buckle up for our Bible science class. the first part is the scientific discovery and the second part is the Bible revelation.

1. Science has discovered that stars emit radio waves. In job 38:7 “…when the morning stars sang together…”

2. Science has discovered that everything is made up of invisible atoms. Hebrews 11:3 “things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”

3. Man eventually discovered the earth was round an not flat as once thought. Isaiah 40:22 “It is He who above the circle-of the earth.”

4. Science discovered ‘cycle air currents’. Ecclesiastes 1:6 “The wind goes towards the south, and turns around to the north; the wind whirls about continuously, and comes again on its circuit.”

5. Science discovers the earth’s hot core. Job 28:5 “…but underneath it is turned up as by fire.”

6. Discovery of the earth floating in space. Job 26:7 “…He hangs the earth on nothing.

I could go on and on, but this is just to explain to you that all the scientific discoveries made through the ages have already been pronounced in the Bible. If you want to know more just do a quick “scientific facts in the Holy bible.”

And, These are all scientific principles that have been confirmed by modern science.

Of course, the Bible is not a scientific textbook. It is a book of faith and spirituality. However, the Bible does contain some scientific facts and principles that have been confirmed by modern science. This suggests that the Bible is a reliable source of information about the natural world.

33. Church Is Boring And No Fun.

Of course it’s no fun… it’s supposed to be a place of peace, learning about the gospel, repentance, redemption and salvation.

So, if you want fun then you should go to an amusement park. Now, that’s fun! The church not so much.

However, if you want to learn about the Holy Bible, God and Jesus Christ then a church might be the right place for you. Depending on it’s preacher you may get a lot out of the sermons and Bible readings, and may meet some nice and fun people.

Some churches are not boring if you want rock concert music, and false gospel preaching that doesn’t tell you the whole truth of the gospel, but they want you to have a good time.

Why? So you keep coming back to fill the seats, and give donations that help support the church.

Have a good time? I am wondering if all the rock concerts have stopped happening? Why go to church to hear rock music to begin with? Perhaps I’m just too old to understand rock music in church.

I wonder if the Beatles or Elvis would have been allowed to play in a church? Elvis did do a lot of gospel music, and definitely would have filled the pews.

Anyway, the church can be fun when you attend with like minded Christian thinkers and maybe even your friends. Some churches even have extra activities for parishioners, but don’t expect a ferris wheel or roller coaster.

Just a glorious roller coaster of emotions, and a better life as you learn about God, Jesus and the Holy Bible.

Of course, you never know! I thought I saw a bounce house for parishioners, but maybe that was just a dream.

Another reason is that the preacher is boring. He or she might not have prepared the sermon to elicit some laughter from parishioners to keep them awake. Other preachers might think a few jokes as being inappropriate for church. Or they could just tell a funny story that fits with the sermon.

I would suspect even Jesus wouldn’t have a problem with preachers telling a few clean jokes to make the parishioners laugh. After all laughter can make any boring sermon much more fun, and cause the bored parishioners to want to return.

34. Will Good Deeds Get Me Into Heaven?

NOPE!

Deeds won’t get you into heaven, but they will get you a better seat, if seats exist there. The Bible clearly tells us in Romans 2:6,7 “…will render to each one according to his deeds eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor and immortality…”

James 2:14 explains “What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?

So what are WORKS?

James 2: 15 continues “If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food and you say to them, “Depart in peace but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”

So, James tells that you need to do good things for others to grow you faith and be admitted into heaven, otherwise you done nothing. By works faith is made perfect.

If you want your faith to grow do good things for others. They can be family, friends and neighbors. Show others that your faith and belief is what drives you to help others in need.

Donate food, possessions and money to local food pantries, or just go to a lonely or needy neighbor and give them a helping hand where needed. The Lord commands us to help others and show them we are doing God’s work for His glory.

35. How Did Jesus Really Die?

Jesus died by crucifixion as written in the Holy Bible. Jesus predicted His death in Luke 9:21, and predicted His death again a third time in Luke 18:31. Luke 23 and 24 tell the scriptural story of His death. Jesus was whipped (scourged), beaten with fist and sticks and then taken to be nailed to a wooden cross that He had to carry to the location of the crucifixion. Read: Matthew 27:32-56

Imagine how you would be if you were beaten by many? Spit on? How about being whipped mercilessly? Carrying a heavy wooden cross a distance after all that? Nailed to a wooden cross?

It is impossible to imagine the pain and mental abuse He suffered terribly to forgive us of our sins, and we continue to ignore that and sin anyway.

36. Where Is Jesus Buried?

A very interesting question that I would expect from someone who is not versed in the Holy Bible.

Jesus is not buried anywhere. He was crucified and died on the cross for our sins. He was placed in the tomb owned by Joseph of Arimathea. they wrapped Jesus body and placed Him in the rock tomb. He rose from death on the third day and ascended into heaven, according to the scripture of Luke 24. The scripture tells us that Jesus will be returning after the Tribulation period in the Revelations chapter.

This brings great hope to the true believers and repenter’s to know they will be with their Lord soon.

My advice to you is to keep asking your Holy Bible questions. Find someone who will give you answers, and if you can’t email us at john or jean@ourdividedworld.com.
