9 Ways to Be a Better Christian
I know that many of you are already striving to live your lives in accordance with God’s will. But I also know that we can all do better, including me. We can all grow in our faith and become more like Christ.
So, how can we truly become better Christians?
I know that we all want to be better Christians, but sometimes it can be hard to know where to start. That’s why I’m going to share with you nine practical tips on how to grow in your faith.
Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This means that you need to know Him as your Lord and Savior. You need to have accepted His gift of salvation and been born again. If you haven’t done this yet, I encourage you to do so today. NOTE: Not sure how? Email us and we will guide you through the simple process. Start to grow in your faith by reading the Holy Bible. The Holy Bible is our primary source of information about God and His ways. It’s also a great way to learn about Christian principles and how to apply them to your life in simple and easy ways. NOTE: Our suggestion is to read James, Proverbs and Psalms to get you quickly started on you path of faith.
You can grow in your faith by praying. Prayer is simply talking to God. It’s a way of communicating with Him and asking for His help. Prayer can help you to grow closer to God and, to receive His guidance and strength.
You can also grow in your faith by attending church. Church is a great place to worship God, learn about the Bible, and fellowship with other Christians. It’s also a great way to get involved in ministry and to make a difference in the world. But, be careful of the type of church you attend. Why? Because many churches today are not teaching the true word of God according to the Holy Bible. These are called the “Feel Good” or “Motivational Speaking” churches who are looking to fill seats and collections. NOTE: If you are not sure about the church drop us an email and we will check it out and let you know. Email: john@ourdividedworld.com or jean@ourdividedworld.com
Growing in your knowledge of God. The more we know about God, the better we will understand His will for our lives. We can learn about God through the Bible, through prayer, and through fellowship with other Christians. NOTE: Other like-minded Christians can help strengthen each others faith by getting together to talk about the Holy bible and Jesus Christ.
Living a life of obedience. Once we know God’s will, we need to obey it. This means following His commandments, even when it’s difficult. It also means living a life of love and compassion, just as Jesus did. NOTE: obedience is hard with social media, TV and movies fighting for your attention. Be strong and direct your attention to Jesus Christ. It may not be easy, but it’s not impossible.
Witnessing to others, and this is a big one. We are called to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others. We can do this through our words, our actions, and our love. NOTE: How do you witness? Just let others know how God has changed your life in social media or personally.
Be intentional about your spiritual growth. Make a commitment to spend time with God each day and to learn more about His Word. As you do this, you will grow in your faith and become a better Christian.
Being a better Christian is a lifelong journey. There will be times when we make mistakes, but we can always repent and ask for God’s forgiveness. The important thing is to keep moving forward and to never give up on our faith. NOTE: I have been on this journey for about 7 years and still make mistakes with family and friends. But I ask God to take my mistakes and fill the spaces in me with His Holy Spirit.
I hope these tips have given you some ideas on how to be a better Christian. Remember, it’s not about perfection. It’s about growing in your relationship with God and becoming more like Him. So don’t be discouraged if you don’t see results overnight. Just keep at it, and you will see progress over time.
Here’s a Prayer to Help You
Dear God, thank You for Your love and grace. Thank You for giving me the gift of salvation and for inviting me into a personal relationship with You. I want to grow in my faith and become better Christians. Help me to spend time with You each day and to learn more about Your Word. Give me the strength to follow Your commands and to live my life in a way that honors You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
I hope you have a blessed day.
