Loss Of Control

Did this happen to you?

Your day is going good, you feel great and got a lot accomplished. The day is not over so you go home and get your thoughts ready for the next day feel very confident.

Then “BAMM” you loose control.

Something has grabbed your attention and it has created a little mental upset. It could be anything (news, social media, rumor, gossip) but it is starting to distract you from your goals.

You try to keep your focus but your mind wants to do its own thing. Not being in control that little mental upset starts growing into frustration and then anger.

Now you are completely distracted from your job, life and relationship. The more you think about it the more your anger (and maybe revenge) rises. Now no-one can get you loose or so you think.

Sound familiar? Of course it does. We all go through it but for me it was extremely unsettling.

I had a lot to do but being on that runaway train heading for…I’m not sure where makes it hard to get anything done.

What happened next?

Well; after verbally exploding (to myself) I felt very physically and mentally unsteady and needed to find a way to calm down quickly. I also knew if I didn’t, I would be in a bad state of mind and absolutely nothing would get accomplished.

But I knew I couldn’t do it myself, so I immediately (after focusing my thoughts the best I could) asked God to help me relax and gain control. Yes; even in a time of real frustrated and anger you can find the strength to ask Him for help.

I haven’t felt that unsteady in years (of course I do get angry but not at the level in many years) since I let God into my life.

It took a little time but I did get myself back and the rest of my day was good.

If you feel like this just ask God (or the Holy Spirit) to guide you back. Be patient because as with me it was not instant and it took time to get back to myself.

God’s Glory.
