Unveiling the Rapture Truth: What Does the Bible Really Say?

It seems that many so-called preachers, and people get the Biblical Rapture mixed up with world events, and using false scripture to preach the Rapture was going to occur during the eclipse, or even other world events

Surprise! Guess they didn’t read the Bible. It is a shame though. Why are the even bother preaching!

The real problem with that type of thinking, and preaching is that they have either never read the Bible or read it incorrectly. I would tend to go with both of those thoughts.

Before any preachers exclaim the Rapture is coming because of the current (or even past) wars, environment, sin and anything else that seems biblical, they need to truly understand all that is involved with preaching about it.

And, many Christians become caught up in the preachers words they pass it on like it is gospel. Those Christians should also read the Bible before speaking false scripture, and proving they really know nothing about the Bible.

Unfortunately, a lot of other Christians have become numb to the idea that there is even going to be a rapture, because of all the “crying wolf” people and preachers out there. It has caused an unholy notion that the Rapture will not occur, because it hasn’t after hearing so much about “It going to happen NOW!”

Also, to me it is unbelievable, and sinful that many preachers don’t even speak of the rapture, sin or tribulation in their sermons at church. I was even informed that many don’t feel their congregations are mentally ready. This actually outraged me (at least a little) because every Christian needs to know about their future, whether they accept it or not.

The Biblical Rapture

Let’s try to clear this up for anyone confused or not sure about the Rapture. I am going to give you the actual Bible version that you can look up for yourself.

Definition of The Word Rapture

The word Rapture is not mentioned in the Bible, but it’s used to describe a very biblical doctrine; the return of Christ and the gathering up of his church (all true believers). Remember, the term “rapture” is derived from the Latin word “rapturo,” meaning “caught up” or “snatched away.”

Rapture consists of an end time event when all dead Christian believers will be resurrected and, joined with Christians who are still alive, together will rise “in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air.” This is the future hope that we have as believers.

Bible Passages You Should Read

There are several passages in the New Testament that provide explicit information about this event:

Matthew 24:30-31: Jesus says that all the peoples of the earth will see him coming in the clouds. And that with a trumpet call, he will send his angels to gather his true believers from throughout the earth.

1 Corinthians 15:50-55: Paul describes the future resurrection of believers. It will happen in a moment, at the last trumpet. When the trumpet sounds, the dead will be raised, and the living believers will be changed and removed from the earth so they are not part of the Tribulation.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18: Paul assures that the Lord will return from heaven, along with a trumpet call. And when that happens, the dead in Christ will be raised, and those still alive will be caught up together with them.

How Should You Prepare For The Rapture?

As for how you should prepare for the Rapture, here are some suggestions based on Bible teachings:

Believe in Jesus Christ: To be ready for the rapture, you must be a believer in Jesus Christ.

Live Righteously: Deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, live soberly, righteously, and godly.

Be Always Ready: Live your life always ready, always waiting, always watching, always spreading His word because Jesus Christ is coming back.

Stay Attached to Scripture: Christians really need to stay attached to the Scripture and not get too far away from the truth, because Satan wants you to be distanced from the truth of Jesus Christ.

When Will The Rapture Occur?

There are different views among Christians about when the Rapture will occur in relation to the period of tribulation mentioned in the Bible:

Regardless of these views, it’s important for Christians to live in a state of readiness, anticipating Christ’s return at any time.

All that I have learned and read in the Bible gives me a “Pre-tribulation view.”You need to read, and decided for yourself which period you believe after reading Revelations.

Remember, the exact timing of the Rapture is unknown and only God the Father knows when it will occur. Therefore, it’s important for Christians to live in a state of readiness, anticipating Christ’s return at any time. The Bible does not provide a specific date or time for this event. Read 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 for the words of Paul.

What Actually Happens During The Rapture?

According to some interpretations of the Bible, those who are not raptured will remain on Earth to go through a period known as The Tribulation, which is described as a time of great suffering and distress.

The Bible does not specifically say what the world will think in response to the Rapture of the Church, but it suggests that it will not produce widespread belief in the word of God, but a time of hate and anger. According to Clayton Christensen, once religion is gone (raptured Christians) you won’t be able to hire enough police. Think about that. Without police what would you have? Instead, the judgments of God that take place during the end times only produce greater rebellion.

It’s important to note that the Rapture does not send people to hell. It only removes the true faithful and believing Christians. The non-believers, atheists, and other religious groups remain on earth to go through a terrible time of horror as described in Joel 2:28-3:17; Zechariah 12:10-14:8; Matthew 24:15-28 and Revelation 6-191.

What Happens After The Rapture?

After the Rapture, there will be seven years of Tribulation prior to Jesus’ actual return and rule. These new believers will have missed the Rapture, but the Bible testifies that their new faith in Jesus is the work of the Holy Spirit in their heart.

Being sure of your salvation, and readiness for the Rapture which involves a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and living in accordance with His teachings.

You can express your commitment to God through prayer.
Dear Jesus, thank you for loving me, even when I’ve ignored You and have gone my own way. I realize I need You in my life and I’m sorry for my sins. I ask You to forgive me and guide me in Your word and truth.
